Build and lead a US CFO search practice - New York

$150,000–$200,000 base + commission, depending on experience

You’ve built a track record recruiting senior finance leaders. Now you want the opportunity to shape a business, develop a team and share in the growth you create.

I’m partnering with an established specialist recruitment boutique to hire a senior recruiter/ search consultant who can take ownership of its North American CFO offering.

The firm works with technology and investor-backed businesses, placing finance leaders who help founders and investors build, scale and create value.

Its US business is growing, with existing client relationships, live mandates and a strong flow of referrals and inbound enquiries.

The opportunity

Based in New York, you’ll combine delivering existing CFO searches with developing relationships across the VC, PE and founder communities. You’ll have room to shape the practice, contribute to its commercial strategy and support the development of colleagues.

There is a clear ambition for this person to take on leadership of the US business over time.

Who would suit it?

You’ll have a strong track record in CFO or senior finance recruitment, ideally supporting technology, VC-backed or PE-backed businesses.

You’re comfortable running the full recruitment cycle, from opening a relationship and winning a mandate through to successful delivery. You enjoy consultative conversations and understand how the right finance leader can change a business.

Experience in a boutique environment would be particularly relevant. This is a small, ambitious firm, so you’ll need to be resourceful, hands-on and excited by the responsibility of helping it grow.

You could already be a senior manager or director, or an accomplished consultant ready for a bigger remit.

The founders are open to shaping the opportunity around someone with the right experience, ambition and leadership potential.
